Membership

Membership into Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is by invitation only.  If you are interested in membership, we encourage you to review the minimum qualifications needed for consideration.  If you have a proven track record of community service and are interested in becoming a member of a forward moving organization of professional women, consider Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.  Whether you are interested in becoming a new member (links to definition “new members”) or are an initiated member (links to definition “reclaimed/transfer members) looking to renew your membership, we welcome you. New Members

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated does not condone the use of force or hazing in its Membership Intake Process. The Omega Eta Zeta Chapter adheres to all rules and regulations set forth by the international body of our organization.

The Omega Eta Zeta Chapter determines when the process will begin. Initially, there is an informational meeting, where potential members can interact with the members of the Omega Eta Zeta Chapter. Potential members have the opportunity to participate in chapter sponsored events and community service projects.

Membership in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. is granted by invitation only. Interested women should meet the minimum education requirements along with other necessary requirements as prescribed by the rules and regulations set forth by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.’s international body.

Minimum Educational Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s level degree conferred from a four-year college or university that meets the Sorority’s accreditation standards.
  2. Undergraduate transcript must be provided to confirm eligibility for membership in a graduate chapter regardless of whether any advanced degrees have been earned.
  3. If applying within three (3) years after graduating with the bachelor’s degree, must have either earned at least a 2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale for the bachelor’s level degree or earned an advanced degree such as a master’s or professional degree.

Reclaimed/Transfer Members

Whether you have been away from Zeta for a while or are looking for a new Zeta home, Omega Eta Zeta Chapter is ready to welcome you.

To reactivate your membership, you must:

  • Be in good standing with your previous chapter
  • Produce a transfer card.
  • Pay all fees (local, state, regional and national)
  • Be willing to participate in the minimum required service projects and mandatory chapter fundraisers.

Financial Obligations
The fee for annual membership is determined by the international office and is instituted by the local chapter. The membership fee will include all local, state, regional and national assessments and dues (as determined by the chapter in alignment with the requirements of the national office). Membership is renewed annually. Membership fees cover the fiscal year beginning July 1st and ending June 30th.

Service Projects
Omega Eta Zeta chapter participates in service  projects that are related to the goals of the sorority and the chapter. To view upcoming chapter service events/programs and past programming, follow our social media sites.

Other Requirements

It is expected that individuals who are invited to membership in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. have demonstrated a commitment to community service, scholarship, sisterhood, and finer womanhood. If you are considering membership, we encourage you to become familiar with Zeta’s Policy Against Hazing. You are never required to participate in hazing activities to become a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. In fact, members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and women who are interested in membership are prohibited from engaging in conduct that violates the Policy Against Hazing.
